Requesting cj to name a new judge

The matter is  civil revision petition in Karnataka High Court where we are respondents. A HC judge recused himself from hearing the petition. The status of the petition is "Place the petition before Chief Justice for naming a new judge".  The status has not changed for several days, which is annoying us. What are the legal alternatives available to us for requesting the CJ to place the matter before a new judge as soon as possible?

Background: We had filed an eviction petition against a tenant before session court. The sessions court's verdict was in our favour. Meanwhile, the tenant approached the High Court appealing for a stay. The HC was trying for a out-of-court settlement between the two parties. As the two parties failed to agree to his terms, the Judge recused himself. Meanwhile, tThe HC has still not admitted the petition.

Hi Varinder,

How can we request the CJ? Is through a letter or petition or meeting (dont know if it is appropriate) or please let me know any other way.

Thanks,

Umesh
