I am seeking information regarding preparing mertit lists and admissions in higher education institutes.
Jamanagar ayurved university conducts a competitive exam for admission in P.G course every year. And they prepare seperate merit lists for all categories - General, OBC, SC, ST. The candidate will have to choose the category when filling the form. So if OBC candidate ranks first in over all exam from all categories, he still won't be able to take admission in sits available under general category, this looks opposite to the law of reservation.
Now the real issue is - Some of the specialities does not have reserved sits for OBC or SC/ST at all. Does that mean even if an OBC candidate is topper in exam and eligable to get admission in that specility as a general category candidate, still he can not get admission ?
This looks like 7% reservation for SC, 27% reservation for OBC and 50% reservation for general category - because OBC/SC/ST candidates can not take admission in general category those sits are reserved for general category !!
Can any one please clarify the matter and rule, and let me know how should we proceed to contact the university regarding this matter.
