Rtc of land illegally changed

My family owns ancestral land in a village . This land parcel has small part which is not registered in our name, though we have some cultivation like coconut etc. since years.

The RTC of the land has someone else's name on it. The person who is not traceable. Someone else has got the RTC of small parcel of land registered in their name.Though 2 years back the RTC was in the name of some other untraceable person.

They have amended it saying the RTC was changed in 1990. Also, does change in Rtc guarantee ownership. Please guide what is the remedy available to us in this behalf.

How do you claim title or ownership to the so called ancestral property.

If you don't have any records including patta or even RTC to your name then you cannot challenge the RTC lying on somebody else's name.

Ascertain the details and collect the relevant documents, consult a local lawyer and proceed as per advise of the local lawyer.

Thanks for the reply sir. The land was purchased by my grandparents atleast 70 years ago. On ascertaining the documents we found a small section of land having rtc in someone else's name ( say A). The whereabouts of the previous owner is not known. However someone else (say X ) a relative has gotten the land parcel' s rtc changed to his name fraudulently some 2 years ago.

Show relevant documents to a local lawyer for better appreciation of facts of the case.
