I reside in Akola and I have filed RTI with respect to matter of Nagpur . In RTI application I have mentioned my address At Akola . But in reply to RTI application IO have replied to me that the said information is available in our office you can collect it from office. Where as I am expecting written reply by Post.
Is the answer is according to law ? Is there any remedy ?

PIO cannot compel you to visit his office for collecting. You may write to him that he need to mail by registered post as it will not be possible for you to visit Nagpur. If he does not react positively in 15 days, move first appeal against PIO. In fact in Maharashtra RTI application format, there is provision where you can mention that you want by registered or speed post. However, postal charges is to be borne by you and will be advised by PIO. Please refer attachment also.
