Stamp duty registration validity

I have paid stamp duty on jan 20 .. Now i think stamp paper is valid 6 months from purchase of stamp paper as per 52B of stamp act. Now part IV of the time of presentation says that "NO document other then the will shall be accepted for registration UNLESS presented for that purposeto the proper officer within four months from the date of its execution"

I enquired in the registration dept they say that execution must be 4 months from date of purchase infront of a prescribed officer and from that time of 4 months can be allowed

MY QUESTION
1. Do i have 4+4 months or 6+4 months or 6 months in total for stamp validation (4+4 means 4 months of execution plus 4 months of registration)
2. Is it mandatory to execute the samp in front of an officer or what.
when can atmost i can extend registration of the document
