Stamp Paper for Deed

I am from Chennai and entered into a partnership at Bangalore on 1-10-09. In Tamilnadu the stamp paper value for partnership deeds is Rs. 300.-. So I used this stamp paper value for the deed. I understand that the stamp paper value required in Karnataka is Rs. 1,000.- Is there anyway I can compound by paying an additional Rs. 700.- and paying a fine. We would prefer not to make a new deed at current or future dates. Thanks in advance for any information.

Well, the stamp issue changes from state to state.  I suggest you to purchase stamp papers from karnataka itself which has the state seal and you shall execute it accordingly.  I dont think stamp paper purchased from tamilnadu would be permitted to be executed or registered in bangalore.

Yes it can be compounded by paying deficiet stamp duty with penalty (if any).

Please appraoch the local sub-registry where you register the partnership.
