My mother died intestate in 1998 until then she lived separated from my father but not divorced.we are the 2 sons of our parents.my mother's property is ancestral one given to her by her father and mother and she had another property which was bought later after marriage after selling her property given to her by her mother's elder sister by will who has no kids.My question is whether my father is also a legal heir of the aforesaid properties along with we 2 sons according to hindu sucession act 1956.or is it different in case of ancestral properties.
