Tax on second house

I have two flats in my name about 100 sq yard each. My one child (unmarried) is staying in one flat and in second flat i am staying with my second daughter (unmarried) due to lack of space. I am adviced to pay tax on notional rent on second house. I do not agree with this as those who build two or more floors ion their plot and their dependent familiy members stay in other floors they do not pay tax on notional rent for other floors. then is it right to charge tax on notional rent in two separate flats in the name of one person where his family members are staying.

As per Income Tax Law ifyou own a secomd house  wheher rented or empty after deducting property tax and repairr charges your rental income/notional rental income will be treated s income from house property and accordingly you will be charged to tax. If you are  a     Joint  Family spread the multiple houses you own among muliple specified relations in you rfamily your tax liability will bew much less.
