What is the impact in central govt job in 498a case ?

If he is arrested and detained beyond 48 hours the deptt hs to treat him deemed suspended but if they so desire can revoke suspension immediately.  Deptt can order suspension even without 48 hours custody. 

In case he is let off on bail he has a dutyto report to his deptt the fact of his arrest/bail (without expecting it to be job o fpolice).  If he fails todo so he is liable for deptt action on this lapse itself.

During the trial his promotion/deputation/ probation clearance /MACP/ Selection grade will not take place.

Further, if retired during proceedings Pension/Gratuity/Leave encahsment will not be released.

Yes, I echo and I know a case currently under trail where the lady of his son fired the 498a missile and the poor man was taken in JC for 2 days and the result he was suspended immediately and the irony being he was just a few months/weeks of his retirement. The worst even his PF ( generally assumed as something "dare not touch" category) is simply withheld with a blanket statement "No clearance without Court clearance". The man is literally running pillar to post  and hopefuly the case is coming to a close after lapse of 3 yrs.  So get yourself disentangled in the list and escape like a gazelle or deer from the hunter .
