Will

Is registration for Will mandatory? Or whether a handwritten will is valid in court?

A testator making a will should consult an advocate and make it register if possible so as to avoid misconceptions occuring at the time of opening a will. Non registered will is also valid if there are circumstances where a testator is unable to register the will. For Instance, if he is on a deathbed, or if he is illiterate, etc. But it is mandatory to make a will on a stamp paper duly attested.

Will requires no stamp duty and registration,For validation of will it requires signature of testator and two witnesses only.
