I met with a accident almost 2 years ago and got an FIR charged against me with sections 279, 337, 338.I paid 1000 Rs and closed the case.I did not contest the FIR in court nor did I file a counter FIR.
I am preparing for government exams like UPSC.
Will this come up in police verification ?
Will I get jobs denied because of this?

If you have been let out on fine alone without being sentenced to imprisonment then it may not be a serious crime, however if you do not mention about this criminal case and its disposal details in the applicaiton form for the UPSC examinations, and got appointed but later on when the employer detects the same during the verification of character and antecedents through police then you may be likely to be dismissed for suppressing the information material for employment

A FIR Case registered under section 279 and 338 IPC can not be closed by payment of fine of Rs. 1,000/- as stated by you. Re-check with your lawyer
Although it (the FIR) stands in your records, however, it would not affect your job prospect, but do not conceal.
