Does submitting a wrong affidavit to government to seek a site at subsidized rate is a criminal offence ? I have all data collected through RTI against a civilian, who has lot of asset and NA land property.Inspite of this he got site from government (KHB_Karnataka Housing Board) by giving fake information in affidavit stating he and his family members does not own anything. What would be a better option to nail this person. Private complaint at court or police complaint?

submitting false affidavit in court/govt Dept or any where is a criminal offence under the provisions of Indian Penal Code.File private complaint against that person in the court having jurisdiction.

Yes,it is a criminal offence and anyone doing so can be prosecuted
