Madras High Court reserved orders on a batch of writ petitions, challenging the ownership of lands by Karnataka Chief Justice P D Dinakaran at Kaverirajapuram in Tiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu.

The petitions were filed by Kaverirajapuram villagers, claiming ownership of Anadheenam lands, allegedly owned by the Judge, controversy of which came as a stumbling block for the Judge elevation to the Supreme Court.

Justice K Suguna reserved orders after hearing submissions by the petitioners and the state government. The Human Rights Advocacy and Research Foundation had filed an impleading petition in this case.

Earlier, the state government presented a report sought by the court on whether the survey of number of lands, claimed by the petitioners were covered in the Tiruvallur District Collector report to the Supreme Court collegium.
