It depend upon circumances and type/nature of the crime. Financial embezzlement is not considered a serious offence in India.

of course the said investigating agency may not be the puppet of the politician who on their instructions may not act. The supervision of the investigation by the judiciary not only to be supervised rather it should be imperatively needed in the present scenerio.

At present only our APEX Court is spared. Hence it is the authority which attaches integrity on laymen's angle. It is high time that the powers and procedures to be redefined to entrust a Lok Ayutha Status to Supreme Court to set things in order in the society. irrespective of the branch of law concerned. People have lost faith in the Executive, Press and the Legislature. Judiciary must rule our country in the best interests of the citizens. There are hundreds of Shanthi Bhushans in the society remaining idle without any employment.

Even as a Highest authority in governing Law and order, the Apex Court is having ample power to supervise/monitor investigations
