Framing law with public opinion, not support, is healthy for democracy as the object behind formulation of any law is the welfare of the citizen of a nation. So public must be known about the law under formulation through an well organised forum or media.

I honestly feel there is no need to consult public while framing laws. Public follows what a leader say without assessing the impacts of those laws. I feel experts in the field have to be considered while framing laws. Experts study all the pros and cons of the issue and can guide the process of formation of law. Neither politicians nor public should be involved. If the politicians are educated in their respected portfolios it would be still better.

Handful of individuals who are more likely to be vested interests do not represent entire population under any count. So, laws should not be framed in manner currently in vogue.

It may be possible or desirable that public is consulted for each & every law to be passed by the Parliament. In that way, the parliament itself will get diluted. However, a public debate can be carried out on the Draft Bill. The Draft Bill can be placed at the website of the concerned ministry and public comments may be solicited for a certain period say one month.

at present we are having week legislative bodies, even the staff attached to the Law Ministries at various levels is not competent and there has not been any effective legislation being produced. The system now requires a change. Either change the legislators and their supporting staff or involve the public in the entire process. Otherwise before any legislation opinion of the public is always invited by way of notification but this still not an effective measure.

what would be the use of electing the our representatives to the Parliament or to the state assemblies ? the whole aim of elections would be done away with. this is just a frivolous question
