Assignment of copyright by designer/ logo developer

The Designer has developed label of packaging for a compay for consideration. The label on packaging is an artistic work.

Designer has issued NOC for copyright registration wherein it is mentioned that, he has received consideration and has assigned rights.

There is no separate assignment deed between Designer and Company.

In such circumstances could NOC be treated as legal and valid assignment?

It is always better to have a separate deed of assignment. However if in letter, it is mentioned in the NOC that the designer has assigned the right in the subject matter packaging for valuable consideration, then it can be safely construed that the designer has given up his authorship in favour of the company.
