Cancel of Sale agreement

Based on the discuss in this thread, one basic question come to my mind,

If an un-registered document has no value in court, what/why we have to use 'court stamps' ?, 

Is there a link/law about value and legal value for a stamp paper ?.I am sure it has value, but now the

discuss makes me think more. Sorry to divert the discuss a bit here.

                the one question is still out of discussion. whether a Agreement to Sale can be made on Rs.20/- stamp?

As clarified earlier, Agreement for sale can not be executed on 20 Rs stamo. It is as good as any other ordinary piece of writing in the eyes of law and has no value in the eyes of law. The intention of the legislature behind making it compulsorily registrable is to defeat forged documents and court will only recognise those which are duly registered or else they r inadmissible in evidence. However, people still enter into such agreements and later pay the price.
