Consumer Forum

In Delhi , a Consumer District Forum passed an interim order giving permission to the Complainant to carry out repair work in his shop and directed the police to provide help if sought

"OPS are hereby restrained to interfere in carrying out the repair and renovation for the above shops till the disposal of this application and may seek police help from relevant police station and the SHO may provide the police help"

Now my question is:

Whether the Consumer Forum has the power to direct the police to provide help?

Whether police can deny request of the Complainant on the ground that it does not recognize the Forum and the Police cannot be directed by the Forum?

Yes. The Consumer Forum has power to issue Decree in favour of the Applicant for execution of its order like any other Magisterial Authority.
