In a most emotional keenly ontested tennis tournament, Novak Djokovic has won the French Open 2012, defeating the number two Nadal. Details of match would be made avialbe once match results are out.
Top-ranked Serbe Novak Djokovic was playing in his first Roland Garros final, is one victory from becoming the first man in 43 years to win four consecutive major championships. world ranked 2 from Spain Rafael Nadal, with a staggering Roland Garros career record of 51 wins and just one defeat, is the overwhelming favourite, having reached his seventh final.
Never before have the same two men met in four Grand Slam finals in a row, so it's apt that no matter who wins on Sunday, his achievement will reach superhero status.
Tennis world no. 01 Djokovic and Nadal were expected to go toe-to-toe in a record fourth successive Grand Slam final on Sunday the 10th June with the French Open title and a place in tennis folklore at stake. Nadal was on the verge of becoming the first man to win seven French Open titles.
However, Belgrade-born Djokovic is undefeated in his past 27 Grand Slam matches, which includes beating Nadal in the finals at Wimbledon in July, the US Open in September, and the Australian Open in January.
Djokovic wins now his first French Open final, joining Don Budge in 1938, and Rod Laver in 1962 and 1969, as winners of four Grand Slam trophies in succession. Budge and Laver went 4 for 4 within a calendar year each time.
Toppers Djokovic and Nadal breezed through their semi-finals on Friday. Djokovic, who saved four match points in a dramatic quarter-final against Afro-French Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, made 16-time major champion Roger Federer, the only favorite of the media cameramen, look like a mere mortal after a comprehensive 6-4 7-5 6-3 victory in a one-sided affair.
However, David Ferrer (ESP) a felow Spaniard, never showed in the semi-final that he really wanted to defeat Nadal, but on the ocntrary was playng as part of practice session for Nadal, a possible defender of the title against the most formidable Djokovic. Hence the victory of Djokovic was a foregone conclusion.
Also, already, Djokovic has 14 wins but 18 defeats overall against Nadal, but leads 3-1 in Grand Slam finals.

Today, Djokovic remians unbeatable leader of Tennis, while Rafael is still trying his luck to upset him but Federer has practically out of of the top field and he can win only if Djokovic does not play or loses early on prior understanding or for other "valid" reasons.
After all, fixing is practiced in every sport and at all levels. Huge money makes many things happen, whither state funds them or mafias do that for others!
