@Querist,
Playing of Video in a mall for commercial purpose or even for entertainment of public at large is considered to be a copyright voilation if prior permission of such use is not obtained from the original copyright owner.
If you use it privately e.g. You are watching a youtube video on your Multimedia mobile phone and your purpose is not to entertain public at large,then you are not held for copyright voilation provided that you downloaded the youtube video by legal means(It has a wide meaning that I left to you to understand).
Note-This reply should be taken as per the declaration given in my profile page.

international artist have their own copyrights so before playing the videos in a public place you need a prior permission from them if it is for advertising.

copy right is violated if you are displaying it on sale.

Of course its a violation irrespective of the fact that the artist is national or international. unlike other facets of Intellectual Property, copyright is accrued on the author as soon as the literary work is created. So no matter where the artist belong to, any public display without his permission would amount to violation of copyright.
