I own a plot of land (residential) in Hosur, T.N., owned jointly by me and my wife. We reside in Pune, Maharashtra.
We now wish to sell the Plot and my question is (i) is it possible for my wife to give a POA in my favour to dispose off the Plot, execute the Sale Agreement, and get the Sale Deed registered at the registrar's office in Hosur? (ii) Would such a POA be acceptable at the Registrar's office in Hosur?

Your wife may give you POA to sell the property in Pune. Then you shall get the POA validated by the District Registrar concerned and can do the sale deed.

You can enter into sell agreement and execute sale deed on basis of duly registered power of Attorney from your wife authorizing you to sell your joint ownership house.
