Property problem being threathened please help

Dear Sir/Madam,

My father has only one brother. We live in Karnataka. When the law came out to give land to the tenants, his brother told my father not to worry (As he was in Army and always posted other places, fought in Pakistan and Bangladesh War) His brother gave declaration, and so has all documents everything details of land details.

Since both were, after declaration, orphans, it was decided to divide property equally when time came, but till then uncle (father's brother) could use both their land for his benefit.

My cousins (uncle's children) have now, some of them, built homes in the land, the other cousins (their brothers and sisters) are planning to build houses on rest of land. When we found out, we asked that we need atleast some land. Because we really need the land. We asked give us atleast some of the whatever remaining. But they are being very not-right.

We had decided to meet to decide and negotiate, but cousins are now threatening life of my father. We think it is unfair. They used the land all this time, now they are taking it. We don't have documents. The lawyers we know are good friends of uncle. We are unsure what steps to take and if we have a case.

My father is war veteran and unhappy how his family is now behaving. He feels that he can leave nothing for his children. We really don't want to give problem to family even though they threathen our life because we don't want bad publicity in our village of our family. please help advice us. Will we have to put case in court? Father is very old and cases will be very costly for us. Which Government departments should we approach for copies if uncle not showing us documents? What should we do?

Any help is appreciated. Thank you very much sincerely for help.

You father will have to file a suit for partition and seperate possession because once land is granted everybody is entittle for the share in that property.
