Simple mortgage against Undivided property of an Individual

Can an undivided property of an individual be mortgaged in any bank? If it is possible, please quote the law.

If X, Y & Z are the joint-owners and X wants to obtain loan over the said property then X will be the Borrower & X, Y & Z all becomes Mortgagors.
