Dear Experts,

If a Parent/ Child or Brother/ Sister Duo were to Sign as Witnesses for a Nomination Applicatiion of a Non Blood Relative for a Flat in a Cooperative Housing Society, then would that be Acceptable?

Thanks,

According to my opinion it will be acceptable.

According to my knowledge, unless the person who nominates is illiterate, the witness is not required..  The witness in nomination in prescribed format is for thumb impression confirmation only.

1. Witness is required in nomination form.

2. Any person (irrespective of relation) competent to contract can witness.

3. It would be better to get it witnessed by blood relation.
