Can police change original complaint submitted by girl 498a?

Can police (SHO level) change the complaint (498A) submitted by girl by taking bribe or by any policitical pressure?

If yes, then what options do we (boy family) have to prove that complaint was changed by police based on evidence provided by us?

Please suggest.

If FIR is sent to the court, police cannot change the complaint, but they can take additional statement by the Girl.

Sir, FIR is NOT launched yet, the investigation is still going on. So can the police change the entire complaint (signed by girl) by taking bribe or under any political pressure? If yes, does the SSP or DIG office has any copy of the original complaint that can prove that complaint was changed by SHO?

@Aman

No police officer or even court has a right to change the content of the FIR. That is the basics of any criminal case.

When a complainant files a case it gets registered and he/she is given the copy of it. If the police changes content and the complainant shows the copy in court, the concerned police officer could get terminated from services.

However, if the police change the complainant at the level when it is lodged, then it it different case. They can do so after taking complainant in confidence.

@ Author,

You can request the copy of the complaint from police station . Usually Written complaint is always with investigating officer and "WHAT TYPE , WHAT DATE, & WHEN" the complaint was lodged that sort of information will be in the police station register you can request clerk in police station to give you further information.

The girl whom I married filed a fake 498A complaint 2 months back.

F.I.R. is NOT launched yet. I have shown the evidence to police proving that all points in the complaint are false. Police was very helpful to us but 2 days back I got some news from a source that police will launch F.I.R. against us soon as the girl used some political pressure (or bribe) and got the original complaint changed after viewing all the evidence that I provided to the police.

I understand I was a fool to show all evidence to police but I did not know about this thing. So what should I DO NOW? How will I prove my innocence?

You should have asked for the original copy. You can't stop police to file FIR against you until & unless FIR is filed a lot can be changed & manipulated.

use RTI to get original complaint copy with mention date(initial).

Hope you will get the old complaint copy.

never open all your vital evidences during investigations.

when FIR is filed, 498a being non-compoundable, trial is a MUST.

police do not conduct non-prejudiced investigation.

they  just have different interests.

so no matter how good the IO talk, do not believe and show all ur defense.

my query :

experts pl. throw light on ADDITIONAL STATEMENTs

1) do the wife need any grounds to file additional statements ?

2) isnt she asked the reason for not including the Additional Statements in the original FIR ?

3) on what grounds / for how many times / to what extents / till what time bar is wife permitted to file additional statements in the previous FIR ??
