discharge myself from legal charges of my father's

Dear All,

My father is an alchoholic, we have been tolerating him for many many years & we cant take it anymore. Is there anyway we can discharge ourself from all Legal Action which my father might get. He has been threatening us saying he will destroy everyone & destroy properties. So, If any1 files any case against him, it should not come on me..

Thanks for your advice in advance.

Cheers,

If your father's debt is for illegal purpose then you will not be bounded by such debts.  You can a public notice in the local news paper as not to give any loans to your father.

You can also do another thing i.e., file a suit for maintenance thru., your mother and get attach the properties of your father.

If the properties are ancestral properties you can also file a suit for general partition and seperate possession and you can file an application as not alienate the suit properties till the disposal of the suit.

Thanks for your reply Rajeev.

My dad doesn't have any own property or ancestral properties. I am afraid that he will ask share in the property which i have purchased. And he does weird things like making police complain against other ppl unwantedly & these ppl come to me & ask for compensation. And he also takes money from ppl & they come after me to repay that money. I have to repaying for many many years & dont want to do any more.
