Employees compensation act 1923

Is the compensation payable under th is Employees Compensation Act 1923, particularly, under temporary total disablement, over and above the wages of the employee or is the compensation a substitute for the wages? What are the relevant sections here?

Thanks

Thanks. I need to get some more clarity. Let me explain.

There is an employee who met with an accident as a result of which he was temporarily disabled for 14 days. He has 15 days’ full pay sick leave to his credit. Because, he has adequate full pay sick leave he get his full wages for the period he is disabled.

My question is whether this employee will be eligible to get compensation under WC Act in full, even though his are wages are paid. Stated in another way, WC Act payments are over and above the payments the employee is normally entitled to. Which are the relevant provisions for this example?

Hope the question is clear.

Thanks.
