normally the free copy will be given to the poor litigants ( like maintenance, lok adalat cases). The certified copies are given only on the application of party.

The free copy can be taken for filing appeal or revision.

The certified copies is normally taken for appeal or revision

In the certified copy   the date of presentation and date of delievery is noted.  it will decide the limitation for filing the appeal or revision from the date of order.

But in the free copy the limitation runs from the date of delievery of copy to the concerned party.
