ID Act,1947

Hi All,

What is the difference between S:25F & 25N of Industrial Dispute Act,1947. Both these sections provide for the conditions precedent to retrenchment of workmen?

Hi Lakshmi We have Chapter V-A and Chapter V-B in ID Act and Sec 25F falls under Chapter V-A and Sec 25N falls under Chapter V-B. Chapter V-B provisions are applicable only for the industries which employ more than 100 workmen. Chapter V-B also makes the approval by the Government mandatory for layoff, retrenchment and closure.
