Income affidavit in domestic violence case

Good afternoon. My wife has filed a Domestic Violence case against me in year 2012. Court had asked us to submit income affidavit which had neither been submitted by any party. I am waiting for her to file first and vice versa. 

Please help to understand the consequences of not filing the affidavit in the case. Can court grant ex parte order if she files the affidavit or can impose financial penalty on me or any other implications can happen?

Please advise.
