Indian Law on Freelancing

Hi!

I'm an IT freelancer. I work from home for an abroad client. They pay me through wire transfer.

So I just wish to know that the foreign money that are coming into my account is legal? And how Indian Govt. treats freelancing job.

Kindly advise me.

I feel that the income earned is legal provided the same is brought in the Income Tax Returns
