Limitation period under CrPC

Dear friends,

Kindly advise whether provisions of provisions of Chapter XXXVI of CrPC relating to limitation period are applicable to offences under Bombay Stamp Act.

Yes provisions are available.

when an accused is being tried in accordance with CrPC, all provisions (including limitation) of CrPC shall apply unless, excluded by the special statute under which the accused has been charged.

Thanks for your reply.  As per provisions of Economic Offences (Inapplicability of Limitation) Act 1974 provisions of CrPC relating to limitation period are not applicable to offences under Indian Stamp Act & other Central taxation laws.  I just wanted to confirm whether similar Act has been passed by the State Govt. also for non-applicability of limitation period to State Acts.
