Lok adalat from telecom operator

Dear Advocate,

I have received an lok adalat message to my mobile number to attend on 26th Nov 2015 for not paying dues of broadband connection. In 2013, they asked me to pay the bills. I am not happy with service, did not use broadband device and requested for cancellatoin. They did cancel after 2months and asking me to pay Rs.1925.

Is it mandatory to attend? What happens if I will not attend to those lok adalats?

Your suggestions will be moost appreciated.

Better attend the lok adalat and make negotiations with the company and pay the bill otherwise the case will run in the civil court for recovery.

Thanks for the quick response Mr. LaxmiKant.

Now am in travellling plan, I cant attend the lok adalat. What is the maximum number of times will they call for lok adalat?

As I red from internet, if I got lok adalat notice means, earlier case was in civil court and now it has come to lok adalat to for freindly recovery. if not succeded in lok adalat again it will go back to civil court. Am I right?

If it is cases, when it was in civil court earlier I did not get any notice.

Please suggest. Thanks in advance.

You have posted that:

Hope you have the record with you and you can always present it to any court.

The connection should have been disconnected within 7 days of cancellation instructions issued by you..........................as per TRAI guidelines.

The company is not an authority to issue summons for Lok Adalat.

Als you may inquire if it is permanent Lok Adalat or some special Lok Adalat.

You can represent thru your lawyer in any court.

Your lawyer can guide you further.
