Obviously it is a crime.

Any sort of cheating is a crime and punishment may vary.  Debarring from further appearance to the same course is the usual punishment for such malpractices in the University Examination.  Depending on the gravity of the situation, the Convenor may complain to police or even the student may approach court against such serious punishment.

What are the facts? What is the context?

In one college under KUHS, it is said that there was malpractice. The university asked the chief superintendent to file a FIS to the police.
