Marraige query

 Hi

 

I stay in Mumbai and i wish to get married through Marraige court in mumbai please guide me the procedure involved in same do we need to take some prior registration or we need to fill some form also let me know the Fee .

There is no court marriage. If you want to get register marriage you have to file an application before the sub-registrar who is also the registrar of marriages. bride and bridegroom will have to file an affidavit regarding the proof of their age. Only after completing all these formalities marriage will be registered and certificate of marriage will be issued after one month, because one month registrar will wait for an objections from any body if any.

mr vadrali is correct. find the address of marriage register, approach to him. fill up the forms. wait for a month with no naughty work. meet the register after a month, again fill up the form and sign it. now you are married.

thereafter send sweets to LCI  friends.

you may also get your marriage registered under the hindu marriage act

8. Registration of Hindu marriages.

 

(1)  For the purpose of facilitating the proof of Hindu marriages, the State Government may make rules providing that the parties to any of such marriage may have the particulars relating to their marriage      entered in such manner and subject to such conditions as may be prescribed in a Hindu Marriage       Register kept for the purpose.

(2) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-section      (1), the State Government may, if it is of opinion       that it is necessary or expedient so to do, provide        that the entering of the particulars referred to in sub-       section (1) shall be compulsory in the State or in any part thereof, whether in all cases or in such cases as        may be specified, and where any such direction has   been issued, any person contravening any rule made   in this behalf shall be punishable with fine which may      extend to twenty-five rupees.

(3) All rules made under this section shall be laid before    the State Legislature, as soon as may be, after they    are made.

(4)  The Hindu Marriage Register shall at all reasonable      times be open for inspection, and shall be admissible       as evidence of the statements therein contained and certified extracts there from shall, on application, be   given by the Registrar on payment to him of the   prescribed fee.

(5) Notwithstanding anything contained In this section,    the validity of any Hindu marriage shall in no way be affected by the omission to Make the entry,

Documents required for Performance & Registration of court Marriage...

1.Passport Size Photographs - four each of Marrying Persons.

2.Residential Proof (Voter Card / Passport / Ration Car / Driving License / Bank Passbook / Lease Deed / Rent Deed) of Marrying Persons.

3.Date of Birth Proof (Municipal Corporation Certificate, Xth or XIIth Examination Certificate, Passport, PAN Card) of Marrying Persons.

3.If any party is divorcee – Certified copy of Decree of Divorce granted by the Court.

4.If any party is widow / widower – Death Certificate of the dead spouse.

5.If any party is a Foreign Citizen or holding a foreign Passport or is having foreign residential address - Certificate of Present Marital Status of the party / No Impediment Certificate / NOC from concerned Embassy and Valid VISA.

6.Two Witnesses ( Both should be major )
