one year Agreement or return the appraisal amount

I am working in a company from last 3 years. I got an opportunity and I have resigned but my company is saying me to complete my one year appraisal agreement till March 2022 or return the whole amount including increment, incentive given till December 2021. They take sign from all the employees on the offer letter saying to return the amount or complete the agreement. I have only two months left and they are asking me to pay around 1 lakh back. they are holding my salary of December 2021 also. What can I do? can they hold my salary and ask me to return all the amount including some incentive in the last year?

All that the company can insist is for serving the notice period. There is no justification for seeking of return of the salary paid or withholding the salary.

but they have taken sign on their letter head to either serve one year or return the complete appraisal amount if you leave before that

Terms and conditions of appointment shall govern the subject matter.

The well known fact is that employees that went on deputation suddenly resigned from the post and taken up employment in another foreign company for higher salary and abandoning the responsibility in on going project.

You have to work out your economics and decide further.
