POA-where to register ?

1. If a person 'A" wants to give POA (Power of Attorney) to person 'B' for purchase of property in Kanpur for 'A' . Can this POA be registered at any other place than Kanpur?

2. Can two persons combinedly give POA to third person for single transaction ?

thanks

POA can be granted jointly by two pesons to a third person.

POA has to be registered at the place where the deponenat[ person giving the POA] resides. If it is executed overseas, the it is to be registered in india as per the stamp act.

Presently in Tamil Nadu, amendment has been made making it compulsory to execute the POA where the property is situated. You can verify about your state amendments if any. Previously it was executed wherever the executants wanted it.

thanks friends.

i came across sec 28 of  (central) registration act  which clearly states that this has to be registered in the registration subdistrict/district where the property is situated.
