Professional tax - tamilnadu

It is argued by seeing the belowmentioned clause that: the employees who are all on the roles only on the day mentioned (First day of the half year) should get deducted ptax and who are later joined are not liable to pay ptax.

'2) Every company which transacts business and every person, who is engaged actively or otherwise in any profession, trade, calling or employment with in the Town Panchayat on the first day of the half-year for which return is filed, shall pay half-yearly tax at the rates specified in the Table below in such manner as may be prescribed:'

Is it correct?Seniors requested to clarify, please.

Ramachandranji U had mentioned the provision of IT act. There is no challenge to it.

1) All employee need to pay PT during the financial year. Ther is no question of date of joining.

2) Tax can be paid quarterly, half yearly or yearly. Department had given liberty to give tax as per schedule.

If u like my suggesation then give THANK on my profile.
