Property without legal heir certificate

I am planning to purchase a flat. When I reviewed the document, there is no legal heir certificates for a person. But, he has the Patta in his name. Then he got the approval from CMDA to layout the plot. Then the plot was purchased by another person. After this, the plot was purchased by 2 more persons one after another.

Is the legal heir certificate is must in this case?

Mr. Adithya is right. No legal heir certificate is required for self acquired property. Make sure all the succesive owner's have fully signed all the documents for this property

above all is right, if a person on whom the property is registered dies without writing will, then legal heir certificate is compulsory.

all the members whose name are mentioned in the Legal Heir certificate should express their consent and sign the document only then the sale of the property become valid.

but in your case  it is not a ancestral property  and more ever it is a self acquired property so at any cost no need to worry about that.
