I am a life member in a public charitable trust. i have been appointed as Returning Officer and later i came to note that there various disputes pending with various authorities between one group and the other. I do not belong to any group and has been assiting for so many years for fair election. But the nomination closes in two days, In the meanwhile whether I can resign from Returning officer post and contest election for which i got an Nomination form also. Please advise.
