Need your help with the below issue
Our Housing society in Mumbai is carrying out a major repair work in the tune of Rs. 1.5 crores. Our consultant has prepared the agreement between the society and the contractor and has also out lined all the points in the agreement.
But our problem is --- in the current scenario no body is able to guide us exactly with the below points:
1) what is the stamp duty that needs to be paid on the agreement
2) whether is it mandatory to register this document
3) how do we pay the stamp duty --- as most of the banks have stopped franking or do not accept franking above rs. 5,000/-
4) If we have to pay online stamp duty through GRAS - Maharashtra then we should pay it under which heading and then is it necessary to register it.
Your guidance in this matter would be very help full to us.
