Steps you would recommend to see my daughter

I married 4 years ago. My wife separated with me 8 months ago. And our daughter is with her.

My wife isn't allowing me to talk to her and she doesn't want this marriage to continue.

I want my daughter back. What steps do I need to take? I am tensed and have already talked to lawyer and unfortunately he is not very responsive. Please advice.

Highly appreciate your suggestions.

Your daughter will remain with her mother still she attains puberty.Till then it is useless to fight for the custody of your daughter. You can seek visitation rights to meet your daughter.

Really appreciate your response Gautam! This is shocking.

How does one seek visitation rights if she doesn't even want to talk to me? And why does she have the rights to keep "our" daughter? Do I, as a male, do not have equal rights?

I am reading up on the Internet as much as I can. Appreciate your response.

Since the matter has not rocked the courts, try one last time to patch up for the sake of your daughter. Try to talk to your wife that your child's future is at stake.Give it one last honest try looping in elders from both the families.

If she is adamant on divorce then you need to take recourse to legal counsel who will advise you on getting visitation rights.

The court takes the view that as a mother (female) she understands a girls needs better than you (male).
