Vat paid but received no receipt

I purchased a property in 2017 from a collaborator and he asked us to make a payment of 3 Lac towards VAT to builder.

We made payment but no receipt received for the same. Till date they have not given any receiving of the cheque paid to builder. Also now they are not sharing any information with us also under which clause builder took pmt from us. Whereas flat was purchased from collaborator.

Can you please guide on this. Can we file a case against this in consumer forum or RERA.

If builders is refusing to give receipts for payment of taxes, for VAT you may collect the VAT challan and keep record. You need to collect receipt for whatever amount you pay to builder it's your legal right and the builder should provide the same. If builder is not proving you receipts for the payments made by you, you may stop making payments. You can file a complaint to R.E.R.A.
