Whether to highlight the important lines in the judgement/ca

Dear Friends,

Please inform whether it is permissible to highlight the important or relevant lines in the judgement/case law while submitting before the Hon’ble Judge or Unmarked judgement/case law is to be required for reference

Highlighting helps save time. But there are judges who do not like marked copies. There is no rule as such.

Need not necessary to high light any  judgement for reference.

Dear Yogesh,

The decorum followed is that unmarked copies should be given to a Judge since he can mark the same in any manner he wants while you are referring to the relevant portions.

Preferrably not. There is a way about doing it. Notes of Argument can be tendered and marked as exhibit. In the note of arguments in one column citation can be quoted  and in another 'Held" .
