Wrong food served by airline

I have recently travelled on Alitalia  from Rio De Janiero-Milan .

The ticket was booked online at their  site.

While making the booking I had booked a Special Meal - Hindu Vegetarian Meal  at the time of booking the ticket .

However when I was served Dinner on the Flight I was shocked to find out as I tasted it , that the meal contained chicken/beef .

I immediately reported it to the cabin Manager as well as the purser on the Flight.

They gave me a complaint/claim form to fill in which I did and handed over to them. However I was further shocked when at breakfast time I was served Ham .

I have written to the Airline and they offered me a compensation of Euro 50 in the form of a Voucher which I can use in future.

I am not satisifed with thier offer and want advise as to what my rights are and what the rightful compensation should be for this lapse on part of the Airline
