UGC had made a regulation for Ph.D ,Minimum standard for Ph.D REGULATION 2009 .While asking under RTI as to the VALIDITY OF STUDENTSHIP studentship is either from enrolment into the programme(admission done, but not registered, because registration is usualy done on a deffered date say after months, years or not atall) or after registration into the programme i.e.when the student get his registration for Ph.d Letter,As the query was important to know the effective date for claiming studentship priviledges etc,UGC replied no interpretation in this matter has been framed except the aforsaid regulation i.e.regulation 2009,....kindly suggest how to get a conclusion.Regards.

Use RTI to get information from UGC/ University.

As you may be aware, the candidates may have to be selected through Entrance examination.
The Regulation very clearly states that separate terms and conditions will have to be decided by the University for the students who get selected for the course.
Therefore, unless one gets selected for the Courses, and till such time the University decided the terms and conditions for those students who qualify for the programme, nobody will be in a position to answer your query.
In any case, that query of yours seems to be highly premature..

RTI reply from UGC did not mention to contact the concerned university rather replied that no such interpretation is available.Secondly case refers to the students who get selected by entrance or direct selection process(prior to 2009 regulation) but not get registered because of delayed processing.Such students may not get library,id card and other studentship priviledges. It has been mentioned in the university Ph.D rule"Registration is not a matter of claim'
Is not it a difficult position ?Is the query not worthy of having student interest ?A student Gets entry,do not get registration letter, months and years lapsed.UGC and University do not give concrete conclusive information reg interpretation of the regulaion.May be a premature question.regards.

OK. After reading the regulation, I used my common sense to answer you. You may, however, wait for the answer from UGC or any other quarter.
