Discrepancy in legal document in land deal

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 26 January 2025 This query is : Resolved
Hi,

We've made a handshake land deal but our relative made us sign a 100 INR. bond paper and convinced us to take minimum down payment for the deal. Later we found that the land price was much more and we were being misleaded also at that point (when we made loose bond of 100 INR.) that land belonged to one person who signed the bond. Later once land of transferred 100% in our name we sold it to a builder who offered better price. Now our relative has sent summon to come and explain this in a court within a month.

What legal course we can take?

Thanks in advance.

It is not known what case he has filed or what is the dispute between you both.
You may better engage the services of a local lawyer and pursue the matter to challenge it.

Your query is confusing to me. Without the sale how was it transferred in your name? What is your relative relation regarding the land?

Facts posted are vague and confusing.
It is advisable to seek professional services of a local prudent lawyer for appreciation of facts/documents, guidance and necessary proceeding.

The land is a big parental land and has each part of it belongs to different brothers in family. One brother wanted to buy all other brothers share of land & deal with builder alone as common representative but in the process he hided the profit margin and keeping the difference of profit to himself once other brothers found they withdrew the deal. But he made other brothers sign loose 100 INR. bond deal which he is claiming that until that exists other brothers cannot sell it anywhere else.

Question is the bond was 100 INR. bond (stamp paper) can it hold such commitment ? also, other brothers made to sell the land to elder brother within 6 months as per the bond so that time has crossed so even if that bond holds good, is it not expired ?
