Arson. Intending to cause loss to property by using fire.

in my humble opinion the age of the student will be very relevant if the age falls within section 82 or 83 IPC then no offence is made out otherwise if he is a student then he will fall in the category of Juvenile.
My personal opinion is that since students enter into pranks by exploding firecrackers in class/campus they are only being mischievous and they do not have any intention to cause damage / hurt therefore it should not amount to any offence

Dear friend, The offence is grave. Explosive substance Act, IPC etc are attracted. Settle he ossue as the delenquent is a juvanile.

Mischief not at the costof life of others. Fire related pranks cannot be tolerated either in school or in neighbourhood, as the start of the fire will be unable to control the fire without adequate fire control system.
