How & where to include name in share certificate

Dear Sir/Madam,

My elder brother & myself are the registered owner of a Flat in a Co-op Hsg. Soc. Ltd. in Nerul, Navi Mumbai My elder brother's name first and mine second.

Due to lack of knowledge about the share certificate we did not collect the same from the society's office. Now recently last month we have approached them to give the same and while receiving the same from the society's office last month it is noted that only my elder brother's name is mentioned on the share certificate and my name has not been put in the said share certificate (copy attached for perusal).

We have given written application to the Society to include my name in the said Share Certificate as per the registered Agreement with the Govt.Authorities.

The committee members of the Society are not able to take a correct decision to that effect. They are confused and have told that they can do the following changes in the said share certificate:

1. They will write my name aside of my brother's name in the said Share Certificate and will sign aside as Secretary & Chairman and will put the remarks down the names i.e. 'AS PER THE MINUTES OF THE MEETING DT .______

OR

2. They will cancel the said/present Share Certificate and issue us a fresh/new share certificate mentioning therein both our names in the Share Certificate.

My query is what is correct procedure to be adopted by the society &

Whether they will issue me a fresh/new share certificate then the date mentioned at the end of the share certificate is 18th May, 1995 whether the same date is to be mentioned in the fresh/new share certificate.
