Live - in

(Querist) 14 February 2013 This query is : Resolved
Hi
My friend's brother is in live - in relationship from the 5-6 years with his girlfriend. He kept her with everything he has. supported her family as well, transferred money in her family member's account as well like a salary every month. Now the girl is exploiting his life, if he doesnt want to marry her, she is threatening him with filing a case against him & his family. Although his family was not aware of all this. Now somehow they came to know about it. Now the boy doesnot want to marry her but the girl is threatening him inspite of taking huge money from him for leaving him. He has evidences of that money transfers in the form of bank statements. Please advice on how to get rid of her.

Before that girl approaching the police ur friend has to record her demand for money along with proofs of money paid to her, he has to give complaint for blackmail to police

Issue Legal notice
Also lodge Police Complain before she complain.

The advice of Anil is very precious so collect evidence against her and then file a criminal case for extortion and fraud.

Thankyou so much Sir(s) for your reply:

1) I would further like to ask if Live-in relationships are valid in India or not as Marriages are as I heard that our honourable Supreme court has given judgement that Live-in relationships are outside the purview of marriage as it against the Indian culture, Is it true????

2) Also, In this present case of my friend's brother, Is the girl entitled to all the rights of wife or not ? and can claim alimony or palimony as in the case of common law marriage or not...Please advice.
